What it is
Kanapinis Tamsus is an unfiltered dark lager from a small Lithuanian craft brewery in Aukštaitija. Brewed to a traditional recipe using roasted malts, caramel malt, hops and hemp seeds — the hemp gives the beer a distinctive character without any psychoactive effect.
Pours a deep ruby-brown with a light tan head. Aromas of caramel and dried fruit lead into a mellow palate of roasted malt, burnt caramel and a gentle earthy warmth from the hemp seeds. Bitterness is low; finish is smooth and slightly yeasty.
