What it is
Rizhskiy Samogon is a honey spirit made in Riga's Mežaparks — one of Latvia's greenest neighbourhoods. The recipe is straightforward: honey, water, and yeast, with 2.7 kg of honey going into every 2-litre bottle. After a week of controlled fermentation, the wash is double-distilled in copper pot stills and filtered through Latvian forest moss and activated carbon, giving the spirit its clean, lightly sweet character.
At 43% ABV, it drinks more like a premium country distillate than a conventional vodka — the honey origin comes through in the palate without added sugar or artificial flavouring.
