What it is
Kharcho is one of Georgia's most recognisable soups: a thick, tomato-rich broth with rice, onion, carrot and a sharp bite of chilli. Rivona, a well-established Lithuanian cannery, produces this version without artificial preservatives — just tomatoes, vegetables, a touch of wheat flour to thicken the broth, and parsley for freshness. Open the tin, heat, and serve: no fuss, no shortcuts on flavour.
Transfer the contents to a saucepan and heat over a medium flame for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve with rye bread or a crusty roll. A spoonful of sour cream is a natural partner.
