What it is
“Gimenes” means family in Latvian — and this RGK cooked sausage lives up to the name. Crafted at the Rēzeknes gaļas kombīnāts factory in eastern Latvia, it follows a traditional recipe of selected pork seasoned with garlic and warming spices, gently heat-processed to a smooth, fine-grained texture. Mild in flavour with a quiet savouriness, it suits cold slicing or a quick pan-fry equally well.
Serve on rye bread with butter or mustard, or fry a few rounds until golden for a fast, filling meal. At 450 g, it keeps the household going for several days.
