What they are

Cherry Queen is the best-known name in konyakmeggy — the Hungarian cherry-liquor bonbon. Inside each individually wrapped praline sits a whole sour cherry that has been steeped in liqueur, surrounded by its own liquid centre and sealed in dark chocolate with at least 45% cocoa solids.

They arrive in a red heart-shaped box with a clear lid — made in Budapest by Bonbonetti, the confectioner behind this classic, now part of the Roshen family. An after-dinner treat for adults: the liqueur is real, so keep them away from the children's shelf.

Ingredients

Sugar, cocoa mass, alcohol-soaked sour cherries 12%, cocoa butter, glucose syrup, ethyl alcohol, emulsifier (soya lecithin), flavouring. Dark chocolate: cocoa solids 45% minimum. Alcohol content: max 5%.
