Pork Stewed "NOSTALGIA" 525 g
A hearty family tin of classic tushenka, straight out of the Soviet-era cookbook.

What it is
NOSTALGIA's pork tushenka is canned stewed pork in the traditional Soviet style, packed in a generous 525 g family tin. Pork and pork fat are slow-cooked with salt, bay leaf, pepper and onion until the meat is meltingly tender and surrounded by its own savoury jelly. The label and recipe are a deliberate throwback to the tushenka of late-Soviet kitchens, where a single tin could turn a pot of potatoes, buckwheat or pasta into proper dinner.
Open the tin and you'll find chunks of pork suspended in golden gelled stock that melts the moment it hits a hot pan. Spoon it over boiled potatoes or buckwheat kasha, stir it through pasta or rice, pile it on dark bread with mustard and pickles, or use it as the base of a quick stew with cabbage and carrots. It's also the classic hiking and dacha food: shelf-stable, filling and ready in minutes over any heat source.
