What it is
Veliuona are classic Lithuanian sweets from Pergalė — individual dark chocolate shells with a smooth wafer and rum-flavoured filling. The chocolate contains no less than 50% cocoa solids, giving it a pleasantly intense, slightly bitter note that balances the sweet, melt-in-the-mouth centre. Sold by weight in Lithuania for decades, these are a well-loved everyday treat.
